Relief Youth Worker – Evening Program

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Relief Youth Worker who embodies our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment. The role provides in‑person programming at two locations, creating a safe and engaging environment for youth ages 13‑18. Activities include social and recreational programming (primarily basketball), homework support, and community referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for youth ages 13‑18.
• Collaborate with the Provincial Youth Outreach Workers team to connect youth with community supports.
• Encourage participation in activities that interest youth and serve as a positive role model.
• Participate in staff supervision and in‑service meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate statistics, reports, and program documentation.
• Build positive relationships with youth both in‑person and virtually.
• Support the ongoing development of the program in partnership with youth, staff, and the Program Manager.

Required profile

• Graduate of Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Recreation and Leisure, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum one year of experience working with youth aged 13‑18.
• Experience and sensitivity in serving a multicultural community.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to speak Arabic or Somali is an asset.
