About the role
Broccolini is seeking an experienced Regional Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead HSE operations across its Ontario construction portfolio. This leadership role is responsible for strategic direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of the HSE program across all active Ontario sites, reporting to the Corporate HSE Director.
Key responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the HSE program across all Ontario construction sites.
- Manage and mentor HSE Supervisors and Coordinators, ensuring adequate resourcing and professional development.
- Maintain compliance with Ontario OHSA, construction regulations, and environmental legislation; serve as primary contact with regulatory bodies.
- Oversee incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions, and manage client compliance platforms such as Avetta.
- Run regional audit and inspection programs, analyze performance data, and drive targeted improvement initiatives.
- Represent regional HSE interests in executive, senior leadership, and client‑facing settings, and engage with Joint Health & Safety Committees.
Required profile
- 8‑10 years progressive HSE experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- In‑depth knowledge of Ontario OHSA, O. Reg. 213/91, and applicable environmental legislation.
- Proven experience managing multi‑site HSE programs for a general contractor or construction manager.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or working toward it.
- Valid driver’s licence, ability to travel across Ontario sites, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Salus Pro (or equivalent HSE management platform).
- Experience using Avetta compliance platform.
- Strong incident investigation and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
- Regulatory compliance expertise for Ontario occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
