Project Financial Analyst

About the role

The Project Financial Analyst supports financial reporting and analysis across COVE projects and programs, handling cash flow management, forecasting, claims preparation, invoicing and reimbursement. Working closely with project managers and cross‑functional teams, the analyst provides timely, reliable financial information to support management reporting and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cash flow, forecasts, claims, project invoices and reimbursement requests, ensuring eligibility and timely submission.
• Interpret funding agreements, monitor financial conditions, and coordinate accurate submissions to funders.
• Compile budget‑to‑actual results, variance explanations and dashboard inputs for management reporting.
• Develop and maintain project financial models, cash‑flow forecasts and supporting analysis.
• Maintain accurate project financial records, spreadsheets and supporting documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis, identify discrepancies, trends and risks, and support month‑end and year‑end activities.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial reporting, project accounting, claims preparation or budgeting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation).
• Financial systems and reporting tools such as NetSuite.
