Program Support – Clinical Practice Placement Unit

About the role

The CPPU Program Support role is part of the Clinical Practice Placement Unit in the School of Nursing at UBC. It provides complex administrative support for coordinating practice education prerequisites and placement site requirements for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and track completion of Student Practice Core Orientation Curriculum (SPECO) requirements for up to 300 BSN and 180 graduate nursing students annually.
• Verify student, faculty, and staff completion of SPECO prerequisites before placement site attendance.
• Manage registration, tracking, and material distribution for Provincial Violence Prevention (PVP) training.
• Create and maintain calendars for SPECO cycles and communicate due dates to all stakeholders.
• Draft, review, and track Student Placement Agreements, liaising with faculty, university counsel, and external health‑care partners.
• Organise logistics for CPPU events, including workshops, training sessions, and conferences.
• Compile and present data, statistics, and reports on SPECO compliance and placement activities.

Required profile

• High school graduation plus one year of post‑secondary education and at least four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to equity and inclusion.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and external partners.
