Marine Engine Oiler

About the role

Assist in routine maintenance and repair of a ship's engine, machinery and auxiliary equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper lubrication while monitoring performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of engine parts and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor engine, machinery and equipment indicators and operate off‑loading pumps, valves and deck equipment.
• Stand watch, steer the vessel under officer direction, and operate lifeboats as needed.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1–2 years experience in engine room or marine maintenance.
• Transport Canada Engine Room Rating certification and Marine Emergency Duties Certificate.
• Ability to work in confined, noisy, on‑water environments and handle loads up to 23 kg.

Required skills

• Engine and machinery lubrication.
• Operation and maintenance of liquid pumps, valves and deck equipment.
• Basic watch‑standing and vessel steering under supervision.
