Maintenance and Cleaning Worker – City of Montreal

About the role

The City of Montreal is looking for dedicated individuals to join its team of Maintenance and Cleaning Workers. You will help keep public spaces, municipal buildings, sports facilities, parks and streets clean, safe and attractive for residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform minor road work such as filling potholes, cutting and smoothing asphalt.
• Maintain lawns, green spaces and public parks.
• Collect waste and recyclables, operate street sweepers and garbage trucks.
• Sweep, clean, wax and polish interior floors.
• Support snow‑removal operations and ensure safety during winter work.

Required profile

• High school diploma (DES) or relevant professional diploma (DEP).
• At least six months of experience in physical or manual work.
• Valid Class 5, 3, 2 or 1 driver’s licence (preferred).
• Willingness to obtain the ASP health‑and‑safety construction card if not already held.
• Availability to work day, evening, night and weekends as needed.
