Junior IT Technician

About the role

Franklin Empire Inc., a provider of electrical components and MRO solutions for industrial and commercial projects, is looking for a Junior IT Technician for its Toronto (Etobicoke) branch. The role involves supporting internal users, maintaining hardware and software, and contributing to technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, maintain and update computer equipment, peripherals and software.
• Check hardware components such as hard drives, mice and keyboards for functionality.
• Manage security mechanisms and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems and software on‑site, remotely and by phone.
• Report anomalies, provide solutions and update technical documentation.
• Participate in projects implementing new technologies and diagnose breakdowns.
• Support internal users with equipment and software handling and identify equipment shortages.

Required profile

• DEP, DEC or AEC in computer science or a related field.
• At least 1 year of technical support experience.
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Endpoint Management, TCP/IP, and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of Windows, Office 365, networking (routers, firewalls, VPN) and business backup procedures.
• Strong diagnostic, problem‑solving and communication skills.
