Junior Environmental Professional, Planning & Reclamation/Remediation

About the role

H3M Environmental Ltd. is looking for a motivated Junior Environmental Professional to join its Grande Prairie team. This full‑time, field‑focused position offers hands‑on experience supporting environmental assessments, monitoring, and regulatory compliance across Western Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting Pre‑Construction Site Assessments, Soil & Vegetation, Stream & Wetland, Avian & Wildlife surveys, Phase 1/2 ESAs and Preliminary Site Investigations.
• Perform environmental monitoring, inspections, and suitability scouting for pipeline routing and wellsite siting.
• Support senior staff with data collection, analysis, field reporting, and preparation of permit applications.
• Maintain accurate field records and engage with clients and stakeholders as directed.
• Stay current on BC and Alberta environmental regulations and assist in developing technical reports.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in environmental science, biology, agrology or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in environmental consulting or fieldwork (internships or volunteer work accepted).
• Strong interest in field‑based work and ability to operate in remote, challenging conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Environmental site assessment techniques (PSCA, ESA, PSI).
• Soil, vegetation, stream, wetland and wildlife survey methods.
• Environmental monitoring and inspection procedures.
• Data collection, analysis and interpretation.
• Technical report writing and permit application support.
• Knowledge of BC and Alberta environmental regulations.
