General Labourer – Lumber Production

About the role

West Fraser is hiring a General Labourer for its Manning Lumber operation in Manning, Alberta. The role involves supporting sawmill production by handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment. Candidates will work alongside a team in a fast‑paced industrial setting.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, stack, and pile lumber in various work areas.
• Handle and lift lumber and other materials safely.
• Operate assigned production equipment.
• Assist other processing workers as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sawmill equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
• Carry out other general labourer duties and repetitive tasks.
• Strictly follow company safety standards, including lock‑out procedures and pre‑task hazard assessments.
• Stand for extended periods while performing duties.

Required profile

• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Availability for day and night shifts as required.
• Good physical condition and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Positive team player with reliable work ethic.
• Strong commitment to safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
• Desire to learn, grow, and succeed on the job.
• No prior experience required.
