CONOPs and Mission Analysis System Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced systems engineer to lead CONOPs development and mission analysis for low‑ and medium‑Earth‑orbit spacecraft. The role combines requirements capture, trade studies, and on‑orbit support, with an initial remote period followed by relocation to Montreal.

Key responsibilities

• Capture stakeholder functional, performance, environmental, and security requirements.
• Conduct workshops and trade studies to define mission needs and translate them into system‑level requirements with full traceability.
• Define and manage spacecraft, payload, and ground‑segment interfaces (ICDs, data flows).
• Develop and maintain the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) covering all mission phases, producing timelines, scenarios, and flow diagrams.
• Perform mission modeling and analysis (orbit, coverage, link budget, resources) and evaluate architectural trade‑offs across cost, risk, and performance.
• Develop verification plans, test matrices, and validation procedures; support system integration, IVV activities, and operational readiness.
• Present technical results at key reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, ORR) and maintain configuration control within PLM tools.
• Support mission operations during critical phases, monitor telemetry, update models/CONOPS, and assist with contingency handling and operator training.
• Lead trade studies, coordinate cross‑functional teams, communicate risks to management and customers, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or Physics with 8+ years in LEO/MEO mission planning and operations.
• Strong foundation in systems engineering, orbit mechanics, and space environment.
• Hands‑on integration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and independent working skills.
• English required; French is an asset.
