Commercial Aviation Maintenance Training Instructor

About the role

CAE is seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Training Instructor to deliver technical instruction on aircraft maintenance across airframe, powerplant, avionics, operations, and inspection. The role combines classroom, virtual, and simulator training to develop the next generation of maintenance professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical instruction on aircraft maintenance, including airframe, powerplant, avionics, operations, and inspection.
• Provide Engine Ground Run (EGR) simulator training as required.
• Prepare and facilitate classroom and virtual training sessions following established procedures.
• Develop, adapt, and maintain training materials and instructional approaches for diverse learners.
• Create and administer examinations and assessments aligned with regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, certifications, and training outcomes.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical training and courseware development across multiple aircraft platforms.
• Promote a supportive, inclusive, and safety‑focused learning environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years aviation maintenance experience.
• At least 3 years experience on assigned aircraft platforms.
• Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence or equivalent.
• Aircraft type ratings on Airbus and/or Boeing commercial aircraft (e.g., B777, B767, B787, A320, A220, A330).
• Certification in instructional techniques, adult education, or equivalent training.
• Strong knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel globally and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
