Winter 2027 Credit Risk Internship

About the role

The Credit Risk Internship for the Winter 2027 term supports the development, monitoring, and optimisation of adjudication strategies across credit risk and fraud prevention at EQ Bank. You will analyse customer, operational and portfolio data to generate insights that inform risk management and business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse portfolio, operational and customer data to identify trends, opportunities and emerging risks.
• Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, KPI monitoring and analytical tools.
• Support optimisation of adjudication strategies through quantitative analysis and performance monitoring.
• Perform data segmentation to evaluate customer behaviour, fraud trends and loss performance.
• Assist in designing, testing and monitoring strategy changes within decisioning systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Economics or related STEM field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in data analytics, risk analytics, financial services or related quantitative work; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of machine learning or statistical modelling techniques.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
