Vice President, Fraud Attack Response & Insights

About the role

The Vice President, Fraud Attack Response & Insights will lead a newly created global function at Mastercard, responsible for detecting, responding to, and learning from emerging fraud threats across the payments ecosystem. Reporting to senior leadership, this role shapes strategy, governance, and intelligence to protect issuers, acquirers, merchants and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a global fraud attack response capability, overseeing incident management and coordination across product, security, risk, operations and technology teams.
• Develop and execute post‑incident reviews, translating lessons learned into stronger controls, security standards and product enhancements.
• Establish a Fraud Intelligence & Insights function that aggregates data from incidents, network signals, registries and external sources to inform mitigation strategies and executive decision‑making.
• Create and maintain fraud risk governance frameworks, including risk identification, prioritization, escalation and monitoring processes.
• Lead cross‑functional command structures during high‑impact fraud events and drive alignment with Integrity & Standards and Security Solutions teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in fraud, risk or security operations within a large, complex organization.
• Strong track record of building and scaling global teams and processes.
• Excellent analytical mindset with the ability to translate threat signals into actionable intelligence.
• Effective communication and influence skills to engage senior stakeholders and governance forums.
