Trademark Agent – Toronto (Remote People)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Trademark Agent to join an established IP practice in Toronto. The successful candidate will manage a growing portfolio of trademark prosecution and portfolio management work for Canadian and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute trademark applications before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and internationally.
• Advise clients on trademark clearance, portfolio strategy, and enforcement.
• Respond to office actions and manage oppositions.
• Liaise with foreign associates on international filings.
• Support senior lawyers on IP litigation and licensing matters as needed.

Required profile

• Registered Canadian Trademark Agent (or actively pursuing registration).
• 3+ years of trademark prosecution and portfolio management experience.
• Strong writing and client communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with robust docketing and deadline‑management habits.
• Experience with Madrid Protocol filings is an asset.
