Senior Software Engineer – Security

About the role

Cohere is looking for a senior software engineer with a security focus to help build and protect the North platform. You will own production security features that power AI agents used by enterprise customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop core security features such as OIDC/OAuth flows, session management, and JWT validation.
• Write secure code for handling tokens, user claims, and sensitive data.
• Implement authentication mechanisms, token lifecycle management, and data‑protection checks.
• Integrate new security tools and design secret‑management solutions within Kubernetes clusters, including encryption and RBAC.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to communicate security best practices to engineers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building user‑facing security features in production.
• Strong ability to ship production‑ready Python code frequently.
• Deep understanding of OIDC/OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and token lifecycle management.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in development and production environments.
• Experience across GCP, AWS, Azure, or hybrid/multi‑cloud deployments.
