Senior Power BI Developer Consultant

About the role

Paralucent seeks a Senior Power BI Developer Consultant for a 3‑month contract to design and deliver a mortgage portfolio dashboard for a financial services client in Toronto. The role involves building executive summary and analytical views, implementing drill‑down and dynamic filtering, and transferring knowledge to the client’s internal team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI dashboard pages aligned to scope and available data.
• Create an executive summary landing page and detailed portfolio analysis views.
• Implement drill‑down reporting for current‑month account‑level analysis.
• Develop dynamic filters and visuals across mortgage attributes such as geography, LTV buckets, insured status, balances, and delinquency measures.
• Support heat‑map style analysis and colour‑coded ratio or scoring views where feasible.
• Work with aggregate historical data and current‑month account‑level data provided by the client.
• Advise on data model structure, report performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to prioritize visuals and simplify requirements.
• Provide walkthroughs and knowledge transfer to enable client maintenance after delivery.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and assumptions affecting delivery.

Required profile

• Senior‑level, hands‑on Power BI developer with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid client environment (2 days onsite per week).
• Ability to ask the right questions and guide the client on dashboard maintenance.
• Mortgage portfolio experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
