Satellite System V&V Engineer – Montreal

About the role

The Satellite‑Level Verification and Validation Engineer ensures the fully assembled spacecraft meets all mission, launch provider and environmental requirements. The role covers the entire verification lifecycle from planning and test methodology design through full‑system functional and environmental validation to final qualification sign‑off.

Key responsibilities

• Define the global verification strategy, author the System Verification Plan and maintain the master Verification Control Matrix to demonstrate 100 % requirement compliance.
• Determine the optimal mix of Verification by Test, Analysis, Demonstration and Inspection (TADI) for complex mission‑level requirements.
• Design and execute full‑system functional tests, “Day‑in‑the‑Life” mission simulations and Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery validation scenarios.
• Define environmental and launch qualification test profiles, pass/fail criteria and post‑test correlation frameworks for campaigns such as Thermal Vacuum, Sine‑Vibe, Acoustic and Shock.
• Lead technical review boards, manage non‑conformance reports, present compliance evidence at qualification reviews and assemble the final flight‑readiness data package.

Required profile

• 5 + years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, systems verification & validation or space mission qualification.
• Deep understanding of platform subsystems and digital/RF payload interactions to meet top‑level mission performance metrics.
• Expert ability to trace, decompose and close out complex requirements using tools such as DOORS, Jama or Windchill.
• Advanced data‑analysis skills with Python or MATLAB to parse multi‑subsystem telemetry, correlate test data and automate verification reporting.
