Recreation Therapy Assistant

About the role

The Recreation Therapy Assistant supports the delivery of therapeutic recreation programs for patients within Vancouver Coastal Health facilities. Working closely with therapists and other health professionals, the assistant helps prepare activities, manage equipment, and accompany clients to appointments and community outings. This part‑time position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient wellbeing in a collaborative health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist health‑care professionals in delivering recreation therapy.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for activities.
• Maintain inventory of recreation equipment.
• Perform general clerical duties related to program administration.
• Organise and coordinate recreation activities for clients.
• Accompany clients to appointments and social outings.

Required profile

• College or equivalent 1‑2 year certificate/diploma in a related field.
• Previous experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Availability to work part‑time.
