Quality Engineer

About the role

avidbots is looking for a hands‑on, collaborative Quality Engineer to support supplier, manufacturing, engineering, field service and overall quality improvement activities across the product lifecycle. The role blends engineering problem‑solving with practical quality tasks such as inspections, audits, failure analysis and data‑driven corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality issues, issue NCRs, track corrective actions, maintain scorecards and approve PPAP/FAI documentation.
• Investigate production problems, drive MRB decisions, conduct daily audits, generate quality alerts and handle non‑conforming material disposition.
• Support engineering and R&D by reviewing ECOs/DEVs, creating issue tickets, and providing quality input on design changes.
• Produce Out‑of‑Box quality reports, analyse trends, and coordinate cross‑functional corrective actions.
• Assist service teams with field returns, perform failure analysis, and improve processes for collecting field quality data.
• Perform incoming inspections, maintain calibration records, and ensure RoHS/REACH compliance documentation is up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality or a similar engineering role.
• Proven ability to conduct root‑cause analysis, RCCA, NCR and CAPA processes.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, electronic or PCBA‑related issues.

Required skills

• Root‑cause analysis, RCCA, NCR, CAPA, non‑conformance management.
• PPAP, First Article Inspection (FAI), Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
• Familiarity with Arena PLM, Epicor, Salesforce.
• Knowledge of RoHS and REACH compliance.
• Quality tools: 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, SPC, FMEA.
• Inspection equipment calibration and documentation.
