Personal Support Worker – 12‑hour Overnight Shifts

About the role

Compass Homecare is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to provide overnight care for clients in the Midland area. The role involves 12‑hour shifts during nights and weekends, offering flexible scheduling to match client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility support.
• Assist with activities of daily living and prepare meals with medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands and community outings.
• Offer companionship, emotional support and respite for families.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic charting systems.
• Monitor and report changes in client health or environment.
• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive care environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families and the healthcare team.

Required profile

• Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized Ontario program.
• NACC certification (required for private career college graduates).
• Equivalent credentials (RPN, RN, or internationally educated healthcare professionals) considered.
• Previous PSW or caregiving experience is an asset.
• Reliable vehicle, mobile phone and reliable internet connection.
• Negative TB test or chest X‑ray within the last 12 months.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 12 months.
• Proof of required immunizations (COVID‑19, MMR, Tdap, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B).
