Manager, Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM)

About the role

The Manager, Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) is a senior individual contributor responsible for defining CIAM strategy, governance, and architectural direction. The role partners with business, product, and technology leaders to translate customer and business needs into secure, compliant, and scalable identity solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the CIAM strategy and multi‑year roadmap aligned with business growth and security objectives.
• Engage with product and digital teams to capture customer journeys, translate requirements into CIAM capabilities, and drive alignment with security and privacy constraints.
• Establish and enforce CIAM governance frameworks, standards, and guardrails covering authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle, and consent.
• Own platform and vendor strategy, leveraging tools such as Auth0 and Okta, and evaluate emerging CIAM technologies.
• Provide high‑level architectural guidance, evaluate solution designs, and estimate technical effort for CIAM initiatives.
• Offer strategic oversight for CIAM delivery, ensuring initiatives meet roadmap priorities and governance expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 7‑8+ years of experience in IAM or security, with at least 3 years focused on Customer IAM (CIAM).
• Proven track record leading CIAM strategy, governance, or platform direction in a customer‑facing environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Auth0 and Okta authentication platforms.
• Strong knowledge of industry protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Deep understanding of CIAM concepts including authentication, federation, authorization, identity lifecycle, and consent.
