Junior Tax Analyst

About the role

Nysonian, which builds global lifestyle brands including NOBL Travel and FLO Pilates, is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Tax Analyst to support its global tax compliance and reporting. The role focuses on U.S. sales tax, with exposure to international indirect tax and payroll tax requirements. It works closely with the Finance and Accounting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare data for U.S. sales tax returns across multiple states
• Support sales tax registrations and maintain tax accounts with state authorities
• Assist with GST/HST, PST, QST, VAT and other international indirect tax compliance
• Support payroll tax compliance, including withholding and unemployment taxes
• Maintain records of returns, payments, deadlines and account balances, and review tax portal reports
• Help draft responses to tax notices, penalties and correspondence from tax authorities
• Review sales data from e-commerce platforms such as Shopify for tax purposes
• Maintain tax trackers and filing calendars, perform basic tax research and follow up internally for documents

Required profile

• ACCA/CA students, finalists or qualified candidates preferred; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field encouraged
• Fresh graduates welcome with strong accounting fundamentals and an interest in taxation
• Basic understanding of accounting, taxation and financial reporting
• Good written and verbal English, with strong organization and time management
• Willingness to learn U.S. sales tax, payroll tax, Canadian GST/HST, provincial sales taxes and international VAT/GST
• Prior experience in accounting, taxation, audit or finance is preferred but not mandatory

Required skills

• Strong Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS
• Experience with Avalara, Xero, QuickBooks or Shopify is an advantage
