Junior FDIR-FSW Systems Engineer

About the role

As a member of the System Engineering Department, the Junior FDIR‑FSW Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers, operations, and payload teams to document and review system designs for Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) on satellite platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Document fault detection actions for platform and payload at system and subsystem levels.
• Review FMECAs with system, subsystem, payload and unit teams and provide feedback on detection, isolation, and recovery of failure modes.
• Support the Operations team by aligning procedures, manuals, and test plans with the FDIR strategy.
• Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and provide inputs for satellite database parameters and monitors.
• Validate design compliance with FDIR requirements and assess test artifacts for success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant practical experience (or higher degree equivalents).
• Knowledge of LEO/MEO satellite systems and overall satellite subsystems.

Required skills

• Creation of Fault Trees and FMECAs.
• Working knowledge of PUS services.
• Proficiency with MS Excel for engineering analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; French is a plus.
