Journeyman Electrician - Industrial Construction

About the role

PTW, a leading provider of electrical and instrumentation services, is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to join its team on various construction projects. The electrician installs electrical systems, equipment and components on industrial projects and sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install electrical systems, equipment and components
• Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
• Ensure work complies with electrical code, safety regulations and company policies
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Test electrical systems with appropriate tools and equipment
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on site
• Complete documentation, work orders and reports
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe work environment

Required profile

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician certificate (Red Seal certification preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience in industrial construction electrical work
• Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED) and CSTS 2020
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and OH&S requirements
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
• Valid driver's licence
• Flexible availability for shift work, overtime and weekends
• Ability to work in heights, confined spaces and outdoors

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, testing devices and electrical equipment
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents

• Competitive hourly wage starting at $50.50, depending on experience and certification
