About the role
A Toronto law firm is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and file‑management support to its lawyers. The position is ideal for a professional who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Manage lawyers' calendars, deadlines, and overall file organization.
- Open, maintain, and close client files in line with firm procedures.
- Liaise with clients, courts, and other law firms as required.
- Handle billing, docketing, and general administrative support tasks.
Required profile
- Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a legal assistant.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using legal practice management software.
