Intermediate Accountant – Accounts Receivable

About the role

OPTrust is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to manage accounts receivable functions within its Finance and Facilities department. The role focuses on the custody, recording, and reconciliation of pension contributions and related cash flows, supporting the organization’s mission of paying today and preserving pensions for tomorrow.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accounting and reconciliation services for pension contributions, special payments, and cash transfers.
• Process daily, weekly, and monthly cash receipt and transfer transactions for the Trust.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures related to pension contributions.
• Prepare analysis and support periodic financial reporting.
• Assist with data validation, user acceptance testing, and system automation enhancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to OPTrust policies and values.

Required profile

• University or college education specializing in financial reporting or accounting.
• Experience with key control reconciliations in a financial services environment.
• Understanding of accounting software applications and financial spreadsheets.
