Insolvency Manager

About the role

The Insolvency department at Crowe MacKay is expanding and seeks a Manager to join the Vancouver office. You will work on a variety of bankruptcy, restructuring and liquidation engagements, supporting both private and court‑appointed matters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of insolvency, including bankruptcy, CCAA, receivership and liquidation engagements.
• Advise clients on current insolvency laws and practices and manage personal and corporate insolvency cases as Trustee, Receiver, Liquidator or Monitor.
• Support troubled companies, lenders, creditors and shareholders through financial reviews, turnarounds and restructuring.
• Communicate with debtors, creditors, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and courts via meetings, reports and court appearances.
• Identify and develop referral sources and contribute to practice development assignments.
• Travel to other offices and off‑site locations as required.

Required profile

• Canadian CPA designation (or legacy CA, CMA, CGA).
• Interest in pursuing CIRP and Licensed Insolvency Trustee designations.
• Strong business and cash‑flow modelling abilities.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and financial analysis.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to prioritize workload and work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Cash‑flow modeling and business modelling.
• Financial analysis.
• Working knowledge of Ascend insolvency software (considered an asset).
