Health & Safety Manager

About the role

The Health & Safety Manager will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Classic Fire + Life Safety’s national occupational health and safety management system. Reporting to the Director, Health & Safety, the role works closely with operational leaders across Eastern Canada to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk and strengthen a positive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing the company’s national Health & Safety strategy and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Maintain and improve the corporate Health & Safety Management System, including policies, procedures and safe work practices.
• Ensure all programs comply with provincial and federal legislation and support COR® certification where required.
• Provide technical expertise, coaching and strategic support to field operations and branch leadership.
• Develop a visible presence in the field, build relationships with employees and supervisors, and verify the effectiveness of safety programs.
• Champion continuous improvement of safety performance and support organizational change management related to safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Proactive leader able to influence without direct authority.
• Strong relationship‑building skills across multiple locations.
• Ability to balance operational realities with regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
• Experience in occupational health and safety within a multi‑province environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of provincial and federal occupational health and safety legislation.
• Familiarity with COR® certification requirements.
