Health Promotion Educator (Part‑time, Sexual Wellness & Harm Reduction)

About the role

The Health Promotion Educator – Sexual Wellness and Harm Reduction designs and delivers workshops, education, and support on sexual health, harm reduction, and gender/sexual diversity. The role focuses on the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, people who use drugs, and service providers, aiming to increase awareness, reduce STBBI incidence, and promote dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate in‑person and online workshops, presentations, and community outreach initiatives.
• Provide one‑on‑one education, information, referrals and support via email or social media.
• Develop, produce and distribute promotional materials for educational services.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HIV, HCV and other STBBIs and report on program statistics.
• Collaborate with community organizations and assist with event planning for Pride, World AIDS Day, etc.

Required profile

• Lived or living experience within the 2SLGBTQIA+ and/or Party and Play communities.
• Strong understanding of harm‑reduction philosophy and trauma‑informed care.
• Commitment to social‑justice principles, anti‑racism, and cultural humility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva for graphic creation.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and virtual meeting tools (Zoom).
• Ability to work with databases for record‑keeping and reporting.

What we offer

• Starting pay of $32.04 CAD per hour with stepped increases based on seniority.
• 15 hours per week, flexible schedule (Monday‑Friday, evenings/weekends as needed).
