Field Service Technician

About the role

We are seeking a proactive problem‑solver to provide high‑quality warranty support for a key client in British Columbia. The Field Service Technician will perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on Damen‑supplied systems, ensuring vessel safety and compliance with contractual warranty obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems on client vessels.
• Execute warranty inspections, assess equipment condition and identify root causes.
• Coordinate with Damen technical specialists for problem resolution and warranty decisions.
• Prepare service reports, documentation and follow‑up actions according to company standards.
• Provide on‑site guidance to clients on operation and maintenance best practices.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, Marine Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of field service, marine or industrial experience.
• Authorized to work in Canada and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Electrical installations and wiring systems.
• Control systems / PLCs.
• Mechanical systems such as pumps and engines.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Safety systems (alarms, detection, ESD).
• Inspection, testing and maintenance procedures.
