Field Data Scientist – Identity Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Field Data Scientist to support its Identity services portfolio. You will work closely with sales, customers, and product teams to demonstrate the value of Mastercard Identity data through proof‑of‑value tests and machine‑learning models.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to showcase the benefits of Mastercard Identity data via proof‑of‑value tests.
• Develop and refine machine‑learning and rule‑based models that improve fraud detection, reduce false positives, and optimize risk decisioning.
• Understand customer workflows and design solutions that integrate Mastercard Identity products.
• Maintain relationships with customer data scientists to gather insights for fraud model development.
• Provide feedback to product teams on data features and help ensure API integrations are correctly implemented.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer/Data Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a customer‑facing or cross‑functional role involving data‑science project management.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven credibility with technical leaders in customer organisations.

Required skills

• Python scripting and analysis.
• SQL querying.
• Machine‑learning model development, including supervised learning.
• Data analytics and model evaluation.

What we offer

• Competitive annual salary ranging from $91,000 to $140,000 CAD.
