Embedded Firmware Developer

About the role

dcbel is seeking a firmware developer to join its growing team and work on the Home Energy Station product line. The role involves developing, improving, and maintaining firmware for both bare‑metal STM32 platforms and custom Yocto‑based Linux distributions.

Key responsibilities

• Write software modules to manage and control the Home Energy Station across multiple electronic boards.
• Develop and improve drivers and business logic for power converters, EV chargers, stationary batteries, and solar inverters.
• Perform initial bring‑up of new PCB designs.
• Promote good software engineering practices through design and code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably with dual focus in Electrical and Software engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with STM32 or other ARM‑based microcontrollers using embedded C/C++ on bare metal.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience building custom Linux distributions with the Yocto framework.
• Hands‑on experience in an electronics or hardware lab environment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and to adopt existing software architecture.

Required skills

• STM32 / ARM microcontroller development
• Embedded C and C++ programming
• Yocto framework for custom Linux distributions
• Hardware interfaces: ADC, I2C, SPI, CAN, PWM, RS232, RS485
• Poco C++ (bonus)
• Familiarity with EV charging protocols, battery management systems, and photovoltaic integration (bonus)
