Director, IT & Cybersecurity

About the role

The Azrieli Foundation, one of Canada’s largest philanthropic organisations, seeks a Director of IT & Cybersecurity to lead its entire technology and security environment. Reporting to the CEO, the role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on technical expertise to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Foundation’s technology and cybersecurity posture and develop a target operating model and roadmap.
• Maintain availability, reliability, performance and security of a hybrid environment that includes on‑premises servers, network infrastructure, cloud services, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and specialised applications.
• Establish and oversee a full‑scale cybersecurity program, including policies, identity and access management, vulnerability management, endpoint and email protection, and security monitoring.
• Lead incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and coordination with internal teams, managed service providers and external vendors during security events.
• Own technology components of business continuity and disaster recovery, defining recovery objectives, backup strategies and testing procedures.
• Manage relationships with the managed service provider and other IT/cybersecurity vendors, setting service expectations, monitoring performance and negotiating contracts.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to the IT Manager, defining responsibilities, workload allocation and future resourcing needs.
• Oversee administration, integration, security and lifecycle management of core platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint and cloud services.
