Counter Salesperson

About the role

As a Counter Salesperson you will deliver top‑tier customer service by maintaining, stocking and keeping a clean counter sales area. You will support customers by answering questions, picking and entering orders, following up on backorders, and assisting both Inside and Outside Sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a professional atmosphere for walk‑in customers and uphold core values in every interaction.
• Enter, pick, pack and process sales orders generated at the counter, including returns and warranty claims.
• Maintain product knowledge, stock levels, and merchandising displays; inform buyers when inventory is low.
• Research products, make recommendations, and generate leads for the Outside Account Manager.
• Assist teammates with bulk orders and resolve customer concerns or complaints.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years experience in customer service or counter sales.
• Outstanding verbal communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to learn and operate the order‑processing software system.
• Intermediate math skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to operate material‑handling equipment.
• Strong work ethic, high integrity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
