About the role

A well‑regarded corporate practice in Toronto is seeking a partner‑level lawyer to join a collegial, business‑focused team. The role offers a clear path to building and growing a practice within an established platform, advising clients on a broad range of corporate and M&A matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage corporate and M&A transactions from origination through closing.
  • Advise clients on mergers, acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, and governance issues.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, including business‑development activities.
  • Mentor and supervise associates working on corporate files.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the corporate practice group.

Required profile

  • Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing.
  • 8‑10+ years of substantive experience in corporate/commercial law.
  • Proven ability to originate and manage client relationships.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and transaction‑management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial firm culture.
