Commercial Account Manager – Portfolio Management

EQ Bank is a challenger bank serving nearly 4 million Canadians. The Commercial Account Manager – Portfolio Management joins a growing Commercial Portfolio Management team to underwrite renewals, assumptions and annual reviews for commercial mortgage products, ensuring compliance and delivering superior service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage renewals, assumptions, annual reviews and ad‑hoc requests while meeting prescribed deadlines and compliance standards.
• Ensure all lending criteria, including acceptable ROE thresholds, are satisfied and documentation conditions are met.
• Deliver superior customer service on a daily basis to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate with partners, brokers, counsel and internal teams to keep transactions on schedule.
• Contribute to special projects and support pipeline management as assigned.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of commercial mortgage underwriting or SFR underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and corporate/legal documentation for Canadian commercial real estate.
• Post‑secondary education in business or finance (diploma or degree).
• Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently, negotiate effectively and communicate clearly with senior management and partners.
