Co-op Researcher Computer Vision and Machine Learning

About the role

Huawei Canada's Noah’s Ark Lab is seeking a co‑op researcher to dive deep into computer vision and machine learning topics, become a subject‑matter expert, and drive innovative solutions that can be integrated into the company’s products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art algorithms for spatial reasoning and multimodal foundation models.
• Evaluate and benchmark solutions using internal datasets.
• Collaborate closely with other researchers to exchange knowledge and accelerate discoveries.
• Work with cross‑functional teams, attending regular meetings and contributing to working groups.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a co‑op program and registered for a full‑duration work term.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of linear algebra, probability theory, optimization, computer vision and machine learning concepts.
• Experience in at least one focus area such as computer vision, deep learning, VLMs or LLMs.
