Bottling Line & Packaging Mechanic

About the role

Andrew Peller Limited is seeking a hands‑on technical leader to keep its bottling, canning and packaging lines running smoothly. The role combines operation, monitoring and fine‑tuning of equipment with safety, quality and continuous‑improvement responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate fillers, rinsers, labelers, packers and carbonation/carbocooler systems to run wine through the bottling process.
• Perform line setups, start‑ups, changeovers and shutdowns, including hot‑water and chemical sanitisation of equipment.
• Monitor line quality and equipment performance, make PLC inputs and mechanical adjustments to optimise output and minimise downtime.
• Support loading/unloading of bottles, labeling, hand‑packing, palletising and rework while maintaining a clean, sanitary workspace.
• Assist maintenance during scheduled and unscheduled shutdowns and participate in upkeep of the Bottle Shop area.
• Lead packaging activities, train team members and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in bottling, canning or packaging.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and food‑safety compliance.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Required skills

• Operation of bottling equipment (fillers, rinsers, labelers, packers, carbonation systems).
• PLC programming/adjustments and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Hot‑water and chemical sanitisation procedures.
• Forklift operation.
• Packaging quality inspection and adherence to SOPs/GMPs.
