Android App Developer (1-2 years experience)

About the role

iQlance Solutions Canada is seeking a motivated Android App Developer to join its Toronto development team. The role focuses on building, testing, and maintaining high‑quality Android applications for real‑world projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Create responsive, user‑friendly mobile interfaces.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Integrate REST APIs, third‑party services and SDKs.
• Debug, test, and resolve application issues, optimizing performance and security.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers and other team members.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous technical improvement.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest Android development trends.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Kotlin and/or Java.
• Android Studio, Android SDK, Gradle.
• REST APIs and JSON handling.
• Git version control.
• Android UI components, responsive layouts.
• Debugging and performance optimization techniques.
• Firebase (nice to have).
• Jetpack / Jetpack Compose (nice to have).
• Payment gateway and third‑party API integration (nice to have).
• Play Store deployment knowledge (nice to have).
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience (nice to have).
