Able‑bodied Seaman / Woman – Deck Crew

About the role

Join Bridgemans Crew Management as an able‑bodied seaman/woman on the M/V Saga. You will work on‑board a vessel in a remote, on‑water environment, with room and board provided.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, chip and paint deck surfaces.
• Handle mooring lines and splice/repair ropes, wire cables and cordage.
• Operate, maintain and repair deck equipment.
• Stand watch and steer the ship or self‑propelled vessel under an officer’s direction.

Required profile

• Team player with 1–2 years of maritime experience.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, on water and noisy conditions.
• Physically demanding work: bending, crouching, lifting up to 23 kg, standing for long periods.
• Willingness to live on‑site in a remote location.

Required skills

• Transport Canada Bridge Watchman Certificate.
• Marine Emergency Duties Certificate.
• Forklift Operator Certification.
• Operation of industrial lift trucks and forklifts.
• Lifeboat operation and maintenance.
