Vice President, Technical Operations – Telecommunications

About the role

A fast‑growing fibre‑based telecom provider in Vancouver is seeking a Vice President of Technical Operations to shape the strategy, reliability and evolution of its large, company‑owned network. This executive will bridge long‑term vision with hands‑on technical execution to support the next phase of scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define long‑term infrastructure strategy, scalability and network architecture.
• Oversee 24/7 high‑availability operations, monitoring, capacity planning and business continuity.
• Lead engineering for enterprise systems, virtualization, storage and hybrid cloud environments.
• Champion robust security architecture, micro‑segmentation and modern cybersecurity frameworks.
• Drive AI‑powered automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Execute major capital projects, network expansions and modernization programs.
• Mentor, scale and lead high‑performing network engineering and infrastructure teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in telecom, network engineering or infrastructure operations.
• 5+ years managing complex technical teams at an executive or director level.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale infrastructure modernizations and capital projects.
• Growth mindset with ability to thrive in rapid‑growth environments.
