About the role

Key responsibilities

• Operate school and community transit routes according to schedule.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of children on board.
• Maintain a clean and road‑worthy vehicle.
• Complete required paperwork and conduct pre‑trip inspections.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and parents as needed.

Required profile

• Safety‑first mindset with a clean driving record.
• Valid full G class driver’s licence (preference for B class).
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Successful vulnerable sector screening.
• Knowledge of the Durham region and surrounding areas.
• Reliability, independence and ability to work consistent shifts.
• Availability Monday‑Friday mornings and afternoons; evenings, weekends and holidays off.
• Patience and friendliness when working with children.
