About the role
We are seeking a qualified Trademark Agent to join an established IP practice in Toronto. The successful candidate will manage a growing portfolio of trademark prosecution and portfolio management work for Canadian and international clients.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute trademark applications before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and internationally.
- Advise clients on trademark clearance, portfolio strategy, and enforcement.
- Respond to office actions and manage oppositions.
- Liaise with foreign associates on international filings.
- Support senior lawyers on IP litigation and licensing matters as needed.
Required profile
- Registered Canadian Trademark Agent (or actively pursuing registration).
- 3+ years of trademark prosecution and portfolio management experience.
- Strong writing and client communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with robust docketing and deadline‑management habits.
- Experience with Madrid Protocol filings is an asset.
