About the role

The Ministry of Transport seeks dynamic individuals to join a team that monitors the condition of Quebec's road network in the Côte‑Nord region. You will work outdoors, travel to various service centres, and contribute directly to road safety and the quality of life for Quebecers.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned road sections and collect real‑time information on road conditions and usage.
• Identify and report anomalies such as lighting failures, traffic‑signal issues, signage problems, safety barriers, drainage defects, erosion, potholes, and other infrastructure concerns.
• Complete inspection grids in accordance with Ministry monitoring standards.
• Monitor and report encroachments on Ministry land or adjacent areas, and coordinate corrective actions with work managers.
• Remove debris from roadways and perform minor repairs using hand tools.

Required profile

• Action‑oriented, able to work effectively within a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel to multiple service centres across the Côte‑Nord region.
• Availability for a 38.75‑hour work week, starting October 2026.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Required skills

• Ability to observe, assess, and accurately report road‑infrastructure conditions.
• Basic knowledge of road components (lighting, signals, signage, barriers, drainage).
• Proficiency with inspection forms and reporting tools.
• Basic minor‑repair skills using hand tools.
• Clear communication for reporting and coordination.
