Station Assistant Superintendent

About the role

The Station Assistant Superintendent supports the on‑site management of large‑scale infrastructure projects, ensuring work progresses safely, on schedule, and in line with project specifications. This role works closely with the Superintendent, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain smooth daily operations on construction sites across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising on‑site construction activities covering civil works, foundations, structural steel, concrete, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades.
• Coordinate daily operations and communicate with the Superintendent, contractors, and subcontractors to keep the workflow aligned with project schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Ensure all work meets local authority standards, requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Support foremen and crews, track daily production, and monitor manpower and equipment resources.
• Propose alternatives to improve efficiency and optimise use of company resources.
• Oversee subcontractors’ performance, ensuring they stay on schedule and adhere to contract terms.
• Maintain positive relationships with owners, subcontractors, and the prime contractor.
• Keep accurate records of daily reports, inspection findings, and safety documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising construction crews and foremen on site.
• Strong understanding of construction processes across multiple trades.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and local codes.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Required skills
