Senior Manager, Physical Threat Intelligence

About the role

The Senior Manager, Physical Threat Intelligence leads Scotiabank’s global Physical Threat Intelligence program. This role ensures proactive threat anticipation, prevention, and risk mitigation across the bank’s physical security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Physical Threat Intelligence program, aligning it with business strategies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the intelligence lifecycle, operating model, standards, and best practices to support loss prevention and risk mitigation.
• Conduct tactical and strategic analysis, converting information into actionable intelligence using appropriate analytical methodologies and quality controls.
• Ensure timely dissemination of intelligence products such as advisories, bulletins, alerts, and early warnings to security teams and executive stakeholders.
• Maintain and expand partnerships with internal functions, law enforcement, government agencies, other financial institutions, and industry groups.
• Champion continuous improvement of intelligence systems, processes, and information feeds, and implement new analytical tools and future‑state solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum four‑year university/college degree or equivalent certification in Criminal or Military Intelligence, Security Studies, International Affairs, Political Science, Criminology, Law, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in intelligence collection/analysis or investigations within law‑enforcement, military, regulatory, or corporate environments.
• 3‑5 years of people‑leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to build high‑performance teams and foster an inclusive culture.
• Strong understanding of risk appetite, risk culture, and compliance with internal policies and governing regulations.
