Senior Data Architect & Reporting Analyst

About the Role

Join Alberta Municipalities as a pivotal member of our IT leadership team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Information Technology, you will play a dual strategic and operational role, bridging the gap between high-level data architecture and actionable business intelligence.

Main Missions

• Design and implement strategic data architectures and robust administration systems.
• Lead data governance, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and compliance across the organization.
• Manage end-to-end data lifecycles, including ingestion, processing, storage, and visualization.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes and integration workflows between enterprise applications.
• Drive data excellence by providing advanced analytics and insightful reporting to support decision-making.
• Oversee data backup, archiving strategies, and incident management procedures.

Profile Required

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years specialized in Data Architecture, Data Analysis, or Business Intelligence.
• Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously under pressure.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities to guide technical teams.
• Solid understanding of IT service management and incident procedures.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Database Management & Modeling (Microsoft SQL).
• Cloud Data Ecosystems (Microsoft Azure: Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
• Business Intelligence Tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Programming & Scripting (Python, R).
• ETL processes and Enterprise Application Integration.
