Public Equities Co‑op/Internship – Capital Markets & Credit Investments

About the role

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is offering a co‑op/internship in its Public Equities group for the Fall 2026 (Sept‑Dec) or Winter 2027 (Jan‑Apr) term. You will join a four‑person team that manages a global equity portfolio and supports both active and index strategies while integrating ESG considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with equity research and analysis for Canadian Large‑Cap or Global Emerging Markets teams.
• Conduct discounted cash‑flow (DCF) modelling and other financial modelling tasks.
• Participate in management meetings with large Canadian companies.
• Support portfolio construction discussions and contribute to investment ideas.
• Help integrate ESG factors into investment analysis.

Required profile

• Strong passion to learn and high attention to detail.
• For the Global Emerging Markets team: interest in emerging markets and, optionally, ability to write/speak Mandarin.
