Power Cable Technician Foreman

About the role

Arctic Arrow is seeking an experienced Power Cable Technician Foreman to lead crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high‑voltage underground and overhead cable systems across Western Canada. Based at the Surrey Operational Centre, the foreman will ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise crews performing splicing, terminating, and repairing XLPE, PILC, and PR cables.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair distribution and transmission cable systems ranging from 12 kV to 230 kV.
• Interpret construction drawings, notes, and code books to ensure correct material usage and compliance.
• Operate mobile cranes, reel tensioners, pullers, trenchers, and various hand and power tools.
• Assess tool and equipment requirements, identify hazards, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Ensure all crew members follow safe work procedures and industry standards.

Required profile

• Journeyman‑level experience with underground and overhead power cable systems.
• Ability to travel as needed and pass utility “Show Me” tests.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Leadership capability to guide teams, work collaboratively, or operate independently.
