Pharmacy Assistant

About the role

The Pharmacy Assistant supports the pharmacist and registered pharmacy technician in delivering safe and efficient prescription services. Working within Cencora’s Innomar Strategies business, you will help ensure patients receive the correct medications while maintaining accurate pharmacy records.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician in filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Interact with patients picking up prescriptions and verify correct medication delivery.
• Enter, scan, and process prescriptions using Kroll Pharmacy software.
• Maintain accurate data in pharmacy files, computer drives, and inventory records.
• Answer phone calls, screen inquiries, and route calls to the pharmacist as needed.
• Order, receive, and manage medication inventory.
• Prepare and process billing, claims, and related documentation.
• Pack and ship prescription orders following established protocols.
• Report adverse events in line with provincial regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping and administrative duties, including occasional standby/on‑call support.

Required profile

• High school diploma (preferred).
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask accurately.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective time‑management and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Kroll Pharmacy software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
